Getting Around the Cloud Portal
A map of cloud.nobullnetworks.com, the SolusVM 2 portal for your VPS or VDS: how to sign in, what each server tab does, and where account settings live.
MyNobull handles billing, tickets, and ordering. Day-to-day control of a VPS or VDS happens in the cloud portal at cloud.nobullnetworks.com, which runs on SolusVM 2. This guide is the map: how to get in, what each part of a server's page does, and where the account-level settings live. Every other VPS guide in this knowledge base assumes you know your way around it.
Getting in#
- From MyNobull. Log in at my.nobullnetworks.com, open Services, select the server, and use the panel login button on the service page. It signs you straight into the cloud portal.
- Directly. Bookmark cloud.nobullnetworks.com/login and sign in with your cloud portal email and password. If you have never set one, use the forgotten-password link there; the reset email goes to the address on your MyNobull account.
The cloud portal is a separate login from MyNobull, so it deserves its own two-factor authentication. Two minutes, once.
Projects and the server list#
Servers are grouped into projects. Most accounts have a single default project; larger accounts can create more to keep environments apart. Click a project's server count to list its servers, then click a server's name to open its page. The list shows status, IP address, and plan at a glance.
Anatomy of a server page#
Across the top of a server's page sit the power controls (start, restart, stop, and a hard power off) and the VNC icon in the top-right corner, which opens the browser console. Below them, tabs cover everything else. Names can shift slightly between SolusVM releases, but the set is:
- Overview
- Status, IP addresses, plan, operating system, guest agent state, and live usage graphs for CPU, memory, disk, and network. See Usage Graphs and the Activity Log.
- Backups
- The backups held for this server, schedule settings where the plan includes them, and restore. See Backups, RAID, and Data Protection.
- Snapshots
- Near-instant point-in-time copies you can revert to. See Snapshots: Create, Revert, and Delete.
- Networking
- Assigned IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, adding an address, and reverse DNS entries. See IPv4 and IPv6 Addresses and Reverse DNS (PTR) Records.
- Disks
- Your primary disk and its size, plus any additional disks offered on your plan.
- Boot & Rescue
- Boot from the rescue ISO to repair a server that will not start, then boot from disk again. See Console and Rescue Access.
- Reinstall
- Wipe the server and lay down a fresh operating system or application template. See Reinstall Your VPS Operating System.
- Settings
- Hostname, description, root password reset, and boot order. See Reset the Root Password or Hostname.
- Activity
- A log of actions taken on the server and by whom.
Account settings#
Click Account (your profile in the top-right corner) for the settings that follow you rather than one server:
- Two-factor authentication: protect the portal login. Guide: Two-Factor Auth on the Cloud Portal.
- SSH keys: public keys stored on your account and offered at reinstall time. Guide: Store SSH Keys in the Cloud Portal.
- API tokens: automate the portal from scripts. Guide: API Tokens for the Cloud Portal.
What is not in the cloud portal#
Invoices, plan upgrades and downgrades, cancellations, and support tickets stay in MyNobull. The cloud portal manages the machine; MyNobull manages the account. If a control you expect is missing on your server (an add-on your plan does not include, for example), that is a MyNobull question or a ticket, not a portal bug.
