Upgrade or Downgrade a Plan
Change the resources on your VPS, VDS, or game server from the Console, how proration is calculated, and how much downtime to expect.
Workloads grow, and sometimes shrink. Every NoBull Networks plan can be changed from the Console. You pay only the difference for the rest of the current cycle, and your data comes with you. Here is how it works per product line.
How to request a change#
- Open the service in the Console. Log in at my.nobullnetworks.com, go to Services, and select the server.
- Choose Upgrade/Downgrade. Pick the target plan (or, where offered, the individual resource such as extra storage or an additional IP address). The page shows the amount due, or the credit, before you commit.
- Pay the invoice. Upgrades apply once the invoice is paid; with a stored payment method that is usually immediate.
- Reboot if prompted. Some resource changes need a restart to take effect inside the operating system.
If your plan does not show an upgrade option, or you want to move between product lines (for example Foundational to Performance, or VPS to VDS), open a ticket and an engineer will size it with you and schedule the change.
Proration#
Charges are calculated by the day. If you upgrade halfway through a monthly cycle you pay roughly half the price difference now, and the new full price from the next renewal. Your anniversary due date does not move. Downgrades work the same way. Any credit due goes on your account and is applied to future invoices, not refunded as cash. Account credits are not refundable under the Terms of Service.
What to expect by product#
Performance VPS and Foundational VPS#
CPU, RAM, and storage can be increased from the Console; the new resources are applied to the server in the Cloud Panel automatically. Most upgrades complete with well under a minute of downtime, and your operating system, data, and IP address are untouched. Moving up from a Foundational plan to a Performance plan is done without a reinstall or data loss; ask via ticket and we will coordinate the timing with you.
VDS#
Dedicated-core plans upgrade the same way. Because VDS resources are pinned to physical cores, a larger plan can occasionally require a move to a host with free capacity; we will tell you in advance if a maintenance window is needed.
Game servers#
Resource scaling is instant through the Game Panel and the Console. You pay only the difference for the rest of the cycle. Your world data and configuration transfer with the server, and downtime is limited to a restart.
Downgrades and disk space#
A downgrade cannot shrink a disk below the space you are currently using. Delete or archive data first so that usage fits comfortably inside the smaller plan, and take a fresh backup before any change that touches storage. See Backups, RAID, and Data Protection.
