Two-Factor Auth on the Cloud Portal

Add an authenticator app to your cloud.nobullnetworks.com login, save the recovery codes, and know what to do if you lose the phone.

Updated 2 min read

The cloud portal at cloud.nobullnetworks.com can reinstall, power off, and reset the password on every server you own, which makes its login worth a second factor. Setup mirrors the MyNobull flow and takes about two minutes with any TOTP authenticator app (Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, Bitwarden).

Enable two-factor authentication#

  1. Open Account. Log in to the cloud portal, click your profile in the top-right corner, choose Account, and open the Two-factor authentication tab.
  2. Add the account in your authenticator app. Choose to add an account (often a plus sign), pick "Other" if asked for a type, and scan the QR code shown on the tab. If you cannot scan, enter your email and the secret key shown next to the code by hand.
  3. Enter the six-digit code from the app into the Code from the app field and click Enable. Confirm with your cloud portal password.
  4. Save the recovery codes. The portal shows eight one-time recovery codes. Store them in your password manager, then click Copy & Close. Each code works once and is your way in if you lose the phone.
  5. Test it. Log out and back in; you should be asked for a code after your password.

Disable two-factor authentication#

Return to Account, open the Two-factor authentication tab, and click Disable; the portal asks you to confirm by clicking it a second time. Re-enable straight away on a new device if you are only swapping phones.

Lost the phone and the recovery codes?#

Open a ticket from the email address on your account. Our engineers can send recovery codes to that address after verifying you own the account; they cannot simply switch 2FA off for you, and that is the point.

Cover all three logins#

You may have up to three separate accounts with us, and each has its own second factor:

Store all three entries in the same authenticator or password manager, and the whole set takes under ten minutes.

Still stuck? Real engineers answer tickets around the clock, and the status page shows anything network-wide before you ask.
