Rename, Reinstall, and Debug Information
Use the game panel Settings tab to rename your server, find SFTP and node details for tickets, and reinstall server files safely with a backup first.
The Settings tab of a game server holds the small housekeeping jobs and one very large lever: renaming the server, finding its SFTP details and node, and reinstalling it from scratch. Reach the panel as described in Access Your Game Server Panel.
Rename the server#
Under the server details section, edit the Server Name and optional Description, then save. The name is what appears in your panel list and in MyNobull; it does not touch files or the address players connect to, and it takes effect immediately without a restart.
SFTP details#
The SFTP Details section lists the host, port, and your per-server username (your panel username joined to the server's short ID). Your password is your panel password, or use an SSH key stored on your panel account. Full walkthrough in Console, File Manager, and SFTP.
Debug information#
The Debug Information box shows the Node your server runs on and its Server ID. Quote both in any support ticket: they let an engineer go straight to the right machine, and the node name is what maintenance announcements refer to.
Reinstall the server#
Reinstalling stops the server and re-runs the installation routine for its server type: it downloads fresh server files and runs the initial setup again. It is the fix for corrupted core files, a failed first install, or a desire to start clean.
Reinstalling can delete or overwrite files in the server directory, including worlds, configs, plugins, and mods. Create a backup (and lock it) before you click, or download the world folder over SFTP. Backups themselves, schedules, sub-users, databases, allocations, and startup variables survive a reinstall; the files on disk are what is at risk.
- Create and verify a backup on the Backups tab. Download it if it is irreplaceable.
- Click Reinstall Server in the Settings tab and read the warning. Confirm.
- Wait. The server shows an installing state and all other actions are disabled while the routine runs, usually a few minutes.
- Restore what you want back. Restore the backup, or copy specific folders (your world, plugin configs) back over SFTP. Restoring a backup offers to delete all files first; leave that unticked if you want to merge your old files over the fresh install, tick it for an exact rollback.
- Check startup variables on the Startup tab, then start the server and watch the console.
When to reinstall, and when not to#
- Reinstall for corrupted server binaries, a broken install after a failed update, or a clean slate.
- Do not reinstall to change the game version or switch to Paper or Forge; that is a Startup tab change. And do not reinstall to fix a plugin conflict; remove the plugin instead.
- Switching games entirely (Minecraft to Palworld) is a different server type on our side; open a ticket and we will move you rather than have you reinstall in circles.
